Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Are TVs with a SAVE MORE sticker the same as ENERGY STAR® TVs?
No, TVs with a SAVE MORE sticker are the most energy-efficient of the TVs that exceed current ENERGY STAR® specifications.

Q:  Will I sacrifice performance quality if I purchase an energy-efficient TV?
No, reduced energy consumption has no impact on the performance of your TV.

Q:  Why don’t some ENERGY STAR® rated TVs have a SAVE MORE label on them?
In order to qualify as a SAVE MORE TV, the unit must be among the highest energy-efficient TVs available in stores.

Q:  In other areas, I’ve seen similar labels but with another utility company’s logo.  Are these TVs energy-efficient too?
Yes, many utility companies are participating in the pilot initiative.  As long as the TV has a SAVE MORE label, you can be assured it has the highest energy efficiency rating.

Q: Where can I find a list of TVs that meet the SAVE MORE specification?
The Consortium For Energy Efficiency’s Tier 4 TVs are qualified to carry a SAVE MORE sticker.  The current list can be found at: CEE Qualifying Products List for Televisions

Q:  Where can I purchase these highly efficient TVs?
Visit the “Where Can I Get One?” page of this website to find a participating retail store near you. Check the site frequently as more and more retailers are joining the program daily.

Q:  What if my local retailer doesn’t have any TVs with a SAVE MORE sticker?
You can encourage your retailer to sign up or you can go to the “Where Can I Get One?” page of this website to find a participating retailer in your area.

Q:  Do I get a rebate if I purchase a TV that will SAVE MORE?
Direct rebates are currently not available for these TVs, but you will immediately begin to save money on your energy bill, and you'll have the knowledge you're doing your part to conserve energy.

Q:  Do energy efficient TVs cost more?
No, and they save you more money over the long term on your energy bill.

Q:  Why do some SAVE MORE stickers have two or more utility companies listed?
Some stores may have more than one utility company servicing their customers.

Q:  Who pays for the sticker and the pilot initiative?
The participating utility companies.
